Museum aan de Stroom, usually known as MAS, is a major museum in Antwerp’s Eilandje district, exploring the city’s relationship with its river, port, international trade, and cultures around the world. Its collections cover history, art, maritime life, and cultural traditions across Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania. The museum occupies a distinctive red sandstone tower designed by Neutelings Riedijk Architects, with galleries stacked like a modern warehouse and a glass spiral boulevard connecting the floors. The rooftop offers 360-degree views across Antwerp and its harbor, while the façade is decorated with thousands of small metal hands, a symbol associated with the city.
